About Penji
Maybe you know this feeling: you function in everyday life, but inside you feel tense, tired, or somehow not fully present. Your mind is full, your body signals pain, restlessness, or exhaustion, and you’re not quite sure where to begin.
In my practice, I meet many people who feel similarly. And I know this state from my own experience. In our society, and also in the healthcare system, body and mind are still often seen as separate, yet they are inseparably connected. I believe that everything we experience, think, and feel expresses itself also physically.
I do not see tension, pain, or inner restlessness as a disorder, but as appropriate responses of the body to the life we live and the conditions under which we exist. Your body is not working against you - it is trying to protect you and keep you in balance.
I am moved by the question of what it takes to feel less isolated. I want to understand what the world feels like when we act in connection rather than giving in to the pressure to constantly function. I am also guided by a need for a language that can express more than words sometimes can. My own pain and the search for freedom are both a driving force and a doorway for me. To move through life feeling alive, awake, and present - and to make good decisions based on what we truly want for ourselves and our environment - there is no way around building a caring and respectful relationship with our body.
How I work
Through subtle attunement and deep presence, I aim to listen, accompany, and offer impulses. This happens by sensing how your body responds, how your breath changes, where tension begins to release, or where your body still seeks protection.
Many people experience this kind of treatment as unusually soothing, because nothing needs to be “done,” and neither pace nor depth are predetermined. The body itself is allowed to guide what is possible in each moment. In this way, space can open up again - space in which the nervous system can settle and regulation becomes tangible again.
The techniques I have learned along this path include Massage, Acupuncture, and Shiatsu. Currently, I am in training in Gestalt, trauma, and body-oriented psychotherapy, with the sense of continually learning more - both in depth and breadth - about the body, pain, and contact, and their close entanglement with social and political dynamics.
Healing, illness, and health
In my understanding, illness and health are dynamic and ever-changing states that arise from our continuous interaction with our environment. I see healing as a process - a movement, a path of feeling, understanding, and becoming more alive.
Often, this process is not linear but unfolds in waves, with moments of clarity, confusion, pain, relief, and reorganization.
I see my role as accompanying you on this path - not with pressure to change everything immediately, but rather to help create the conditions in which change can emerge.

Gratitude
I am thankful to all the people from whom I have been able to learn, and continue to learn. This includes the direct teachers, clients, and encounters, as well as those whose knowledge has traveled through many hands, languages, and times.
In my work, I draw on practices that are deeply rooted in various cultural traditions - some of which have been passed down, others fragmented or rendered invisible, often with unclear, blurred, and colonial entangled histories. Many techniques and ways of thinking are older than our languages, older than the languages of today’s countries and states. Much knowledge has been torn from its context, renamed, reshaped, and in many cases appropriated in painful ways.
I am grateful to be in contact with this knowledge. The techniques and practices carry stories of pain, resistance, transmission, and much more. In my work, it is important to me to listen to these layers and not exclude what may feel uncomfortable. I work with curiosity, openness, and the intention to create spaces that connect rather than divide.
